Thanks to our generous community, we've collected enough backpacks for all 350 kids attending the event!
The Back to School Extravaganza is for registered families of Twin Lakes Food Bank. An annual event that helps children in our community feel confident and prepared for the school year ahead. Each registered child will receive a new backpack, school supplies for their grade level, a professional haircut, lunch from Chick-fil-A, a gift card to help with back to school expenses, and more! The whole family is invited to enjoy an afternoon of fun! There will be a bounce house, garden activity, art station, book giveaway and opportunities to engage with local partners like Folsom Police and Fire Department. It’s one of our favorite days of the year!

SPONSOR A STUDENT for $25 – Your monetary donation will cover all the necessary school supplies that will help a child feel confident and prepared for the new school year ahead. Supplies are determined by the child’s grade level and includes items such as notebooks, pencils, pens, colored pencils and markers, ruler, erasers, glue sticks, scissors, index cards and a pencil pouch. All the materials they need to have a successful year at school!

If you did not register for the event and are in need of a backpack, please check with TLFB after August 2 to see if there are any leftover. During the event, we will only be able to assist families who are registered. Thank you!
ATTENDEE INFO
If you are attending the event, here’s some helpful information to know beforehand.
REGISTERED GUESTS MUST PICK UP BACKPACKS & SUPPLIES DURING THE EVENT ON AUGUST 2 BETWEEN 11AM-1PM. WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DISTRIBUTE THEM TO YOU AFTERWARD.
Parking: All guests will park in the Mt. Olive Church parking lot or on the street. Our priority is to keep our guests safe. Please watch for signage and directions from our volunteers when entering the parking lot. There will be many children on-site, please use caution.
Check-in: We will open check-in for guests at 11:00am. Please bring your ID. There is no need to arrive early and stand in line, especially on a hot day. We will not run out of supplies for registered guests.
Haircuts: Professional haircuts will be offered during the event. If you would like your child to receive one, you must have their hair washed and dry before the event. When you arrive at check-in, you’ll be placed on a list. We have more stylists this year, so the wait time should be shorter.
Community Partners: We have some fantastic community partners available during the event, eager to engage with families. Thank you to Powerhouse Ministries, Folsom’s Hope, Ruby’s Books, CA Society of Health Systems Pharmacy, Folsom Police and Fire Dept., Micron and more! We will also have some fun entertainment for the kids including a bounce house, garden activity, and art station. Sandwiches will be provided by Chick-fil-a.
