Michelle started at Twin Lakes as a garden volunteer in the spring of 2021 and leapt at the chance to join the team as Garden Coordinator a couple months later. She grew up on a vineyard in Mendocino County and though she has resided in Folsom since 2007, her rural roots and appreciation for the natural world run deep. Michelle has a background in animal science and floral design and is passionate about the connection between food, social wellness and environmental health. She loves the variety of tasks she encounters in the garden, the camaraderie among the staff and volunteers, and the sense of purpose she gets from using her skills for good in the community. Michelle, alongside her husband, is currently raising three young humans, a handful of pets (including chickens) and countless plants. When she isn’t gardening, Michelle enjoys cooking for her family, drinks with friends, trips to the lake and listening to podcasts. She is so grateful for the opportunity to steward the special piece of land that is Twin Lakes Garden.
