Volunteer Spotlight | Lynne Clawson

Every Tuesday at Twin Lakes Food Bank, Lynne Clawson rolls up her sleeves and gets to work. Between sorting donations, organizing shelves, and finding a home for every can and box, she’s making a difference that reaches far beyond the warehouse walls.

Lynne has a knack for seeing what needs to be done—even before the rest of us realize it needs doing! She keeps things moving, finds better ways to organize supplies, and makes sure everything is where it belongs. With her background in pharmaceutical warehouse operations, she brings a sharp eye for efficiency and is always finding ways to help our warehouse run more smoothly. We can certainly tell when she’s not here!

You might not see Lynne out front very often, but we see her impact everywhere. We see it every time we look at a neatly organized shelf, a sorted box of donations, or a warehouse running like a well-oiled machine. That’s where Lynne shines!

After retiring, Lynne wanted to give back to an organization she truly believed in. As a Folsom resident, she found a meaningful way to use her skills while supporting her neighbors.

Over the years, her experience at Twin Lakes Food Bank has reinforced an important lesson: everyone has a story. As Lynne reminds us, we shouldn’t make assumptions or judge others when we don’t know what they’re going through. She wishes more people understood the variety of individuals and families we serve—not just those experiencing homelessness.

One of her favorite parts of volunteering is seeing a guest’s genuine gratitude and knowing the food they receive will make a real difference in their life. She remembers helping a single mother with a few extra items, a simple act of kindness that can mean so much to a family.

After nearly 10 years of serving at the food bank, Lynne continues to make every box count. We’re so grateful for Lynne’s dedication, thoughtful improvements, and heart for our community. Her work may happen behind warehouse doors, but the impact reaches every family we serve.
