On Saturday, October 10, Twin Lakes Food Bank set up at the Folsom Family Expo and talked with hundreds of families and individuals about who we are, what we do, and how to get involved.
One thing stood out: nearly 60% of the people we met had never heard of us. Many were surprised to learn what happens at our food bank every week. Others asked right away how they could donate, volunteer, organize a food drive, or serve alongside their kids. Before people can support a mission, they need to know it exists.

Right now, that matters more than ever. In 2020-21, Twin Lakes Food Bank served more than 21,000 guests. This past year, we served just over 40,000. With more affordable housing being built in Folsom, we expect even more neighbors will need help in the years ahead.
That’s why we’re building a new food bank. But a bigger building is only part of the answer. Food donations are down, food prices are up, and more families are counting on us to put nutritious food on their tables. Every donation, volunteer shift, food drive, and gift helps meet that need, and every one starts with someone knowing we’re here.
So you’ll see us at more community events in the year ahead. When our neighbors need us, we want them to know where to turn. And when we need help, we want our community to know how to stand with us.
You can help today: tell a friend about Twin Lakes Food Bank, invite us to your school, church, or workplace, or sign up to volunteer or donate on our website here.
