Community Food Bank Serving Folsom, ElDorado Hills & Granite Bay
The last couple weeks in this country have been, well – heavy. The hate and vengeance dominating the headlines have unmasked the worst of humanity.
Yet, the best of humanity is happening all around us, albeit quietly and in the shadows of the mainstream discourse, waiting to share its stories of kindness, goodness and hope. Let us take pause from the incivility and redirect our eyes and ears to the decency amongst us.
Many guests come to the food bank with heavy hearts and circumstances; and it is our privilege to ease the weight of their burden with a kind or encouraging word, as well as food. The events at the food bank over the last month and yet to come, are light and life-giving examples of humanity at its best.
The Twin Lakes Food Bank Gala team invites you to a night inspired by the brilliance of Van Gogh’s Starry Night—a celebration of compassion, community, and hope. Savor exquisite cuisine, indulge in decadent desserts, and sway to the smooth sounds of live jazz from Groove Therapy. The ever-charismatic Freddie Silvera returns as our auctioneer, igniting the room with energy and purpose as we come together to be bright stars for those in need.
The funds raised allow us to continue the programs and services which provide nutritious groceries to our neighbors in need. Your attendance extends far beyond a night of celebration—your contributions uplift and encourage the food insecure families in our community. The Gala shines as a reminder of the goodness that emerges when hearts unite over a common purpose to feed hungry families.

Community Service Day’s Food Drive was an impactful day where neighbors, local groups, and volunteers came together to collect enough food to provide 36,482 meals to families in need, while also connecting with one another through shared purpose and kindness. What made the day truly special wasn’t just the impact, but the way it happened: people serving side by side, sharing laughter, encouragement, and connection.

Even with our best efforts, many in our community still face daily challenges in putting food on the table. Savannah, one of our Angels on Wheels guests, is a powerful reminder of why our work matters. After a traumatic robbery, she lost her home, her job, her family, and much of her vision. Living with little human interaction and immense isolation, Savannah was encouraged and felt seen when she received a note from our team, reminding her that she was not alone and that she mattered.
“The Angels on Wheels girls are so good, kind, and gracious,” Savannah shared. “I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing these things to me, because I have no way to go to a grocery store on my own.” She added, “Your letter meant so much to me.”
Together, we are building hope for the future! Thanks to the generosity, time, and dedication of so many in our community, our Capital Campaign to raise funds for our new facility is gaining incredible momentum. Each conversation, pledge, and act of support is bringing us one step closer to meeting the growing needs of our neighbors.
Campaign Progress So Far:
Every milestone represents lives touched and futures strengthened. We are deeply grateful to each person and organization who has already joined us in this important journey. If you haven’t yet met with us, we would love the chance to share our vision for the new facility and how you can be part of creating lasting impact.
